About the position

Description: As a Robotics Technician at a robot manufacturer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing robot-related issues occurring at dealer and customer sites. The key objectives of this role are root-cause analysis, technical resolution, and the prevention of recurring issues. A strong customer-oriented mindset, passion for the job, professional pride, and solid communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Respond to robot-related issues reported by dealers and end customers, prioritizing cases based on urgency and impact.
Troubleshoot robot hardware (HW) and software (SW) faults to quickly restore system uptime.
Analyze error logs, alarms, and system status to identify root causes and define corrective actions.
Perform repairs, including parts replacement, calibration and post-repair verification.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to robot motion, I/O, safety circuits, and industrial/network communications.
Provide clear technical guidance and explanations to dealers and customers, ensuring knowledge transfer and issue prevention.
Document service activities, repair history, and technical findings with accurate, customer-ready reports.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HQ R&D, and Service teams to escalate complex cases and close the loop on fixes.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Robot technician or Service Engineer for robots or industrial automation equipment.
Strong customer-oriented mindset, taking ownership of customer issues.
High level of passion and professional pride in technical service work.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, dealers, and customers.
Logical and structured problem-solving skills based on evidence.
Practical technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Industrial communications, PLC system architecture, Electrical and industrial wiring, or Robot system logs and alarms.
Understanding of EU machinery safety standards.
Ability to communicate in English for technical discussions and documentation.
Willingness to travel as required.
Experience working for a robot manufacturer or robot service organization.
Hands-on experience with collaborative or industrial robot repair.
Experience troubleshooting controllers, servo systems, or sensors.
Experience supporting dealers or providing 2nd/3rd level technical support.
Experience using ticket-based issue management systems.
Employed by the German branch of the robot manufacturer.
Combination of office/remote support, issue analysis, documentation, etc., and field-based work within Germany.
On-site visits for troubleshooting and repair when issues occur.
