Satellite Optical Communication Terminal Engineer (m/f/d)

You will act as the technical authority for Optical Communication Terminals, ensuring successful development, qualification, and integration at satellite level.

Your key responsibilities:

• Technical point of contact for OCT and optical payload suppliers
• Drive and monitor OCT design, development, testing and qualification activities
• Derive and manage OCT specifications from mission and system requirements
• Support engineering trade-offs and ensure requirement compliance
• Coordinate interfaces with spacecraft subsystems (thermal, mechanical, electrical, software)
• Lead OCT contributions to milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
• Define and support satellite-level verification and AIT activities
• Manage technical risks, NCRs and performance assessments
• Contribute to schedule control and progress reporting

Your Profile

• Degree in Physics, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering (or similar)
• Hands‑on experience with Optical Communication Terminals (OCT) in space applications
• Strong understanding of OCT architecture, performance analysis and optical link budgets
• Knowledge of SDA and ESTOL protocols
• Structured, analytical and solution‑oriented mindset
