Security Engineering Manager (m/w/d)

In this role you lead Maltego’s operational security function, merging hands-on engineering with people leadership. You will own detection, incident response, and security monitoring across multi-cloud and endpoints, while embedding security into engineering workflows. You’ll build a scalable security team and partner with IT, Engineering, and GRC to translate risk into prioritized action. You’ll shape the security posture and incident playbooks at scale.

• Own detection, triage, and resolution of incidents across cloud, product, and corporate environments with improving playbooks and tooling (Microsoft Sentinel, Defender)
• Own operational security monitoring across multi-cloud estate (Azure primary, AWS, GCP)
• Drive end-to-end vulnerability management with Nessus and Snyk in partnership with Engineering
• Define security baselines and secure-by-default standards and embed into SDLC and infrastructure; integrate tooling like Snyk into workflows
• Manage endpoint and identity security across Windows and macOS fleets using Intune, Defender, Purview
• Build and lead the operational security team including mentoring engineers and contractors
• Plan and deliver security awareness initiatives and phishing simulations for non-technical audiences
• Partner with AI transformation team to engineer security guardrails for responsible AI use

• 5+ years in security operations or security engineering in SaaS/B2B environment
• Experience owning security outcomes end-to-end
• Hands-on incident detection and response experience with SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel) and EDR/XDR (Microsoft Defender)
• Strong multi-cloud and endpoint/identity management experience (Azure, AWS, GCP;Intune, Windows, macOS)
• Vulnerability management experience with Nessus and Snyk; coordinating remediation with engineering
• Ability to define and embed security baselines into engineering/infrastructure
• People leadership experience with setting expectations and delivering quality
• Clear communication translating risk for engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• English proficiency
• Comfort leading security as primary practitioner while coordinating with GRC
