Senior Associate, Domain Expert - Eastern Europe

Senior Associate, Domain Expert (AI): Working with Dataminr's AI platform to ensure high-quality alerts and intelligence by examining, analyzing, annotating, and editing data in real-time. Focus on integrating deep human expertise into AI models, defining new factors for improvements, and developing the AI platform for real-time event detection.

Location: Must be able to work remotely from the United Kingdom or Ireland or in a hybrid setup. Requires the ability to work core hours of 7:00 am - 3:00 pm GMT and rotational weekend work.

What you will do

• Serve as an expert on Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Russian geopolitical developments to improve AI models.
• Monitor and analyze the quality of data feeds.
• Annotate and label complex real-time events, making decisions with incomplete data.
• Own and develop projects to improve the performance of AI models and tooling in real-time event detection.
• Collaborate and communicate daily priorities within a team-centric environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, ideally with a concentration in Political Science, Russian language studies, Eastern Europe studies, or security/conflict studies.
• Ability to monitor and analyze data with strong online research skills in Russian and English .
• An understanding of geopolitical risk and world events.
• Passion for breaking news, current world events, and technology, with a great understanding of social media and publicly-available data.
• Ability to interpret and succinctly describe ongoing, complex events with incomplete data.
• Fluency with AI tools and LLMs, and experience using them to solve problems, improve workflows, and make efficiencies.
