Senior Avionics Engineer

Overview

In this role you will strengthen our in-house avionics capability to advance propulsion systems. You work closely with a lean, ownership-driven team to translate requirements into robust electronic and software solutions. You will lead hardware design, testing, and integration across multiple levels, driving reliability and manufacturability. This opportunity offers impact through building end-to-end embedded avionics for space propulsion and contributing to a growing lab environment. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performance electronics.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Plan and execute hardware designs for avionics modules from concept to test
Capture requirements, define architecture, select components, design PCBs, and oversee bring-up
Create test plans and support assembly, integration, and bench testing of propulsion hardware
Manage electronics and avionics projects and develop the avionics lab
Develop prototypes, lead design reviews, and reengineer boards for reliability and manufacturability
Integrate hardware, firmware and software, maintain ICDs, and support system integration and testing
Apply EMC, signal/power integrity, derating and radiation mitigation practices for mission requirements

Zentrale Anforderungen

5+ years in a relevant avionics/electronics area
Experience with supplier coordination, project management or team leadership
Familiarity with the space industry and space projects
Bachelor in Electrical/Electronics/Computer or related field
End-to-end embedded systems development
Know-how of EMC design, signal/power integrity, component derating; radiation considerations is a plus
System integration across hardware/firmware/software; comfortable with ICDs, harnessing and test benches
Knowledge of C/C++ and Python for firmware development, test automation, and data analysis
Fluent in English; German is a plus
