Senior Cloud Computing Systems Engineer

Description

• Develop and execute Azure cloud engineering strategy, standards, and best practices.
• Provision and manage infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and ARM templates.
• Implement DevOps, CI/CD toolchains, automation, and standard operating environments.
• Deploy and support Azure PaaS services, including APIM, AKS, App Service, and Front Door.
• Monitor and orchestrate client environments using automation.
• Provide advanced operational support, troubleshooting, patching, and vulnerability remediation for Azure infrastructure.
• Collaborate with software engineering, data services, data science, and architecture teams on requirements, configuration, testing, validation, and deployments.
• Mentor developers and partner teams on cloud infrastructure practices and availability.
• Work with Kubernetes, Docker, and other container technologies.
• Research emerging cloud technologies and recommend cost-effective, flexible infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience engineering Azure cloud environments, including PaaS services, networking, and related technologies.
• Hands-on Azure Infrastructure as Code experience; Terraform is required.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service; daily AKS work is expected.
• Strong understanding of the Azure public cloud platform and cloud delivery models.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, scalability, API-first architecture, and modern software architecture.
• Knowledge of software development life cycles, programming languages, web technologies, and cloud infrastructure management.
• Understanding of web services, API gateways, load balancers, ACA, policy frameworks, caching, and security frameworks.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
• Azure certification is highly desired; CKAD certification and Azure Stack/HCI experience are preferred. Coding review and code-sample creation are part of the interview process.
