Senior Embedded Software Engineer at WORK Microwave leads the design and integration of Linux-based software for embedded systems. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainable code. You mentor junior engineers, drive software testing, and contribute to tooling and processes to keep the team agile and effective. This role combines hands-on development with shaping our software stack and development culture in a collaborative, international environment in the Alpine foothills near Munich.

• Lead design and development of Linux-based embedded software for high-performance applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software into hardware
• Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews and enforce coding standards
• Plan and implement software tests; contribute to test strategies
• Optimize Linux kernel driver code and support toolchains
• Champion Software Team processes: configuration management, code quality, design patterns, new technology & tools
• Contribute to and support on-time, on-budget, high-quality goals for performance, maintainability and scalability

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, communications engineering or similar
• Minimum 5 years in embedded software development with focus on Linux applications
• Excellent ANSI-C programming skills; good C++11/14
• Experience with Linux-based and bare metal embedded systems
• Knowledge of computer networking, OSI model, IP stacks and embedded network protocols (Linux or bare metal)
• Proficient English; basic German a plus
