Senior Engineer Wafer Processing (f/m/d)

In this role you drive wafer manufacturing process development and characterization for bipolar devices. You will optimize chemical processes, run DoE-based experiments, and collaborate with production to transfer processes and boost yield. You contribute to equipment qualification and supplier discussions, supporting a smoother path from lab to manufacturing. Your work advances sustainable, high-quality semiconductor solutions within a cross‑functional team.

• Develop and characterize wafer manufacturing processes focusing on chemical steps for bipolar devices
• Plan and conduct preliminary parameter experiments using Design of Experiments (DoE)
• Perform chemical experiments in a laboratory environment
• Support equipment specification, participate in supplier discussions, and qualify equipment for production
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to transfer processes to production with the process team
• Implement measures to increase yield and throughput within project scopes

• University degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related)
• Ideally initial experience in semiconductor frontend manufacturing and laboratory environments
• Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals
• Basic knowledge of semiconductor devices and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Analytical mindset and fluent German and English
