Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

As Senior Financial Accountant you will support the Germany and Austria Controllership, ensuring accurate recording in line with local regulations, US GAAP, and corporate policies. You’ll collaborate with global shared services, auditors, and country leadership to enable timely closings and compliant reporting. The role involves investigating issues, supporting audits, and driving process improvements in a multinational finance environment. This position offers hands-on impact in integration efforts for acquisitions and close collaboration with stakeholders. You will work in a hybrid setup in Berlin or Frankfurt and help shape robust controlling processes.

• Review monthly financial results and support closing deadlines
• Reconcile statutory to US GAAP for internal reporting
• Assist with GAAP-to-tax bridges for deferred tax calculations
• Coordinate information flows for statutory audits and prepare required analyses
• Link central teams, auditors and local entities to resolve US GAAP differences
• Investigate accounting issues and provide timely solutions
• Support tax audit responses and information collection
• Contribute to integration activities for acquired companies and finance projects
• Prepare ad hoc reports for local leadership and the Country Controller
• Be the first point of contact for financial questions within legal entities
• Partner with internal teams to improve processes and ensure IC compliance

• 7–10 years of accounting experience in a multinational environment or Big Four
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounting and US GAAP
• Understanding of taxation and transfer pricing principles
• Experience with shared service centers
• Proficiency with SAP and/or NAV and MS Office
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
• High integrity, detail-orientation, and stakeholder collaboration
• Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
