Senior Legal Counsel Banking and Capital Markets Law

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you support Hannover Re Group across banking, capital markets and financing law. You will advise group companies on regulatory matters, contribute to capital markets transactions, and craft legally solid solutions for innovative financing projects. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable commercially viable decisions at the executive level. This role offers the chance to shape financing and regulatory strategy in a global, cross-functional environment.

• Advise on banking regulatory matters and capital markets transactions for Hannover Re Group companies
• Structure and execute Insurance-Linked Securities and Insurance Capital Management transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and regulatory documents in domestic and international contexts
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop practical, legally sound financing solutions
• Support management and business units with legally sound and commercially viable decisions on capital markets activities

• Several years of relevant professional experience as Legal Counsel or equivalent in financial services or corporate law firm
• Strong expertise in banking, capital markets or financing law including regulatory aspects
• Knowledge of company law relating to partnerships and LLCs
• Fluent German and English, with international collaboration experience
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to develop sustainable solutions through collaboration
