Senior Manager Corporate Strategy (m/f/d)

Overview

This role is part of the Corporate Strategy team, supporting the Chief Transformation & Growth Officer and the CEO in setting mid‑ and long‑term growth strategies for Sandoz, a global leader in sustainable Biosimilar and Generic medicines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive cross‑functional corporate strategy projects that shape Sandoz’s growth.
  • Shape and refine overall corporate or business unit strategy.
  • Lead high‑profile M&A and business development initiatives.
  • Create and define growth and efficiency opportunities, including business case development.
  • Assess business, product, and project viability.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis.
  • Lead or co‑lead projects with the Head of Corporate Strategy Team or autonomously manage key workstreams.
  • Analyze ambiguous problems, develop structured approaches, and implement effective solutions.
  • Extract meaningful insights and actionable recommendations from complex data.
  • Manage cross‑functional (senior) stakeholder relationships and own overall project governance.
  • Communicate clearly and precisely with all audiences, including the Sandoz Leadership Team.
  • Continuously identify improvement opportunities and support their implementation.
  • Provide ad‑hoc support and sprints to accelerate operational decisions.
  • Create strategy documents and memos for initiatives such as the annual Strategy Cycle with the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced graduate degree such as MBA or PhD preferred).
  • 3+years of experience in top‑tier consulting firms with relevant project work.
  • Specialization in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or generics.
  • Familiarity with finance, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Ability to lead smaller projects and independent workstreams within a cross‑functional team.
  • Strong synthesis and recommendation skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including problem structuring, problem solving, and financial modelling.
  • Leadership experience in a matrix organization to manage without authority.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Agility to shift between multiple projects and handle high‑pace, changing challenges.
  • Self‑starter with high standards of excellence and an innovative mindset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel); statistical programming or analytics tools such as Tableau, SQL, or Python.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
