Senior Manager – Wind Repowering & Strategic Partnerships

The Company

Our client is a well-established renewable energy business with a long-term investment horizon and a strong track record in onshore wind across Germany and Europe. The company focuses on building and expanding high-quality renewable portfolios through a combination of asset acquisition, strategic partnerships, and value-driven development.

The Role

You will be responsible for identifying, structuring, and securing wind repowering opportunities across Germany. Sitting between development, M&A, and strategy, you will own opportunities from initial screening through to signed agreements, often working in partnership with existing asset owners or developers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Sourcing and shaping wind repowering opportunities across Germany, focusing on existing and ageing assets rather than greenfield development
• Owning opportunities from first market approach through to commercial agreement, defining whether acquisition, partnership, or co-development is the right route
• Leading commercial discussions and negotiations with asset owners, developers, municipalities, and other key stakeholders
• Assessing repowering potential using a combination of market insight, regulatory understanding, and high-level technical judgement
• Contributing to future portfolio growth by identifying value-creation levers such as repowering optimisation and hybrid wind + storage concepts

The Candidate

• Degree in engineering, economics, environmental sciences, or a comparable discipline
• 4+ years of experience in wind project development, repowering, origination, or wind-focused M&A
• Strong knowledge of German wind permitting processes, grid connection requirements, and EEG mechanisms
• Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and partnership structures
