Senior Medical Affairs Manager – Lung & Genitourinary (GU) Oncology (m/f/d)

Responsible for the development and execution of medical strategies across GSK’s Lung Cancer and Prostate Cancer portfolio in Germany. The role supports upcoming oncology launches while strengthening GSK’s scientific leadership and evidence‑generation activities in both therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy Development and Execution
  • Develop and execute integrated medical strategies for Lung Cancer and Prostate Cancer assets across all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Translate global medical objectives into locally relevant medical plans for Germany.
  • Identify scientific evidence gaps, unmet patient needs, and opportunities to improve standards of care.
  • Support development of disease‑area strategies aligned with evolving treatment landscapes.
Launch Readiness and New Product Introduction
  • Lead medical launch readiness activities for upcoming Lung Cancer and Prostate Cancer assets.
  • Develop and implement pre‑launch medical plans, including scientific communications, evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and medical education activities.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, and Global Medical teams to ensure successful launch preparation.
  • Support evidence strategies relevant to the German healthcare system, including data generation supporting value demonstration and access discussions.
  • Contribute medical expertise to launch planning, scenario assessments, and competitive readiness activities.
Scientific Engagement
  • Build and maintain scientific partnerships with leading thoracic oncology and uro‑oncology experts across Germany.
  • Lead advisory boards, expert consultations, scientific exchanges, and educational initiatives.
  • Represent GSK at national and international congresses and scientific meetings.
  • Gather actionable insights from external stakeholders and translate them into strategic recommendations.
Evidence Generation and Research
  • Identify opportunities for real‑world evidence generation and collaborative research.
  • Support investigator‑sponsored research initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to publication planning and scientific dissemination activities.
  • Help shape evidence‑generation strategies addressing clinical and healthcare‑system needs.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Act as the medical subject matter expert within cross‑functional asset teams.
  • Partner with field medical colleagues to ensure alignment of scientific priorities.
  • Contribute medical expertise to integrated brand planning and business reviews.
  • Support strategic decision‑making through scientific insights and competitive intelligence.
Medical Education and Scientific Communication
  • Lead development and review of scientific content and educational materials.
  • Deliver disease‑area training for internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy and external relevance of medical communications.
  • Support development of congress strategies and scientific engagement plans.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with GSK values, policies, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Support medical review and approval of promotional and non‑promotional materials.
  • Maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity and patient focus.

Requirements

Education
  • Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, or related discipline.
  • MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent scientific qualification preferred.
Professional Experience
  • Significant Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong oncology experience with demonstrated expertise in both Lung Cancer (NSCLC and/or SCLC) and Prostate Cancer and broader Genitourinary Oncology.
  • Experience supporting or leading oncology launches in Germany.
  • Strong understanding of the German healthcare system and market access environment.
  • Proven external stakeholder engagement experience with leading academic centers and key opinion leaders.
  • Experience working within complex matrix organizations.
Preferred
  • Experience with multiple oncology launches.
  • Experience in evidence generation and investigator‑sponsored research.
  • Familiarity with AMNOG‑related evidence considerations and German payer expectations.
  • Participation in international or global medical teams.

Germany Salary Range

EUR 99,750 to EUR 166,250
