ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Member of Technical Staff (Sr. MTS) to join our Cloud Test team. In this role, you will participate in the full software testing lifecycle — from product design reviews and test planning to hands‑on test execution and automation development. You will work across key domains including cloud networking, security, and performance & scalability, helping to ensure our cloud products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
This role is ideal for engineers who have a solid foundation in one or more of these domains, are passionate about automation, and are eager to leverage modern AI tools to amplify their testing effectiveness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with software engineers to understand product requirements and contribute to design reviews from a testability perspective.
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases covering functional, end‑to‑end, security, and performance/scalability scenarios in cloud environments.
- Efficiently write and maintain automated test cases using Python or Go, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across functional, end‑to‑end, security, and performance scenarios.
- Conduct performance and scalability testing using tools such as iperf to identify bottlenecks and validate network behavior under load.
- Perform or support security‑focused testing, including validation of network segmentation, access control policies, and encryption configurations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex networking and cloud infrastructure issues.
- Leverage AI‑powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM‑based assistants) to accelerate test script development, log analysis, and test coverage enhancement.
- Maintain clear and organized testing documentation, test reports, and defect tracking records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test engineering, or a related technical role.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, routing protocols such as BGP, VPN, firewall concepts).
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
- Proficiency in Python or Go for test automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and command‑line tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams with moderate supervision.
PREFERRED
- Experience in one or more of the following domains:
- Networking & Routing: Practical knowledge of BGP, or cloud networking.
- Security: Familiarity with network security concepts such as zero‑trust, IAM policies, encryption, or vulnerability testing.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
- Performance & Scale: Experience with performance benchmarking tools (e.g., iperf, ethr, cyperf) and scalability test methodologies.
- Experience using AI/ML‑powered development tools to improve coding efficiency, test generation, or log analysis.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- A curious and proactive learner who can quickly ramp up on new technologies.
- A collaborative team player who communicates clearly and contributes constructively to design discussions.
- An engineer who embraces AI as a productivity multiplier — not just a buzzword, but a practical tool in your daily workflow.
- Someone who takes ownership of quality and is not afraid to raise issues early and often.
