Senior PACS Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take technical support to the next level, optimize workflows, and prepare to assume functional and disciplinary leadership responsibilities.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical faults in cloud/archive environments, applications, and frontend systems (2nd-level support).
• Conduct root cause analysis and work closely with other departments to permanently eliminate sources of error.
• Structure daily workflows in support and continuously develop service processes.
• Act as the interface and escalation point for IT departments and PACS administrators of hospital and practice customers, managing critical escalation cases with confidence.
• Monitor performance of internal and external systems, maintain the knowledge base, and document system processes.
• Mentor three junior colleagues, manage resources, and grow toward a team lead role in the medium term.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in technical customer or IT support with strong technical depth.
• Solid practical experience in the healthcare IT environment, especially with PACS systems and the standards DICOM, HL7, and IHE.
• Routine handling of Windows Server infrastructures and SQL databases.
• Fluent German (C1) for communication with German hospitals and good English skills (at least B2).
• Proactive working style, sense of responsibility (ownership), and motivation to lead and develop a team in the future.
• Residence in Germany with willingness to travel to Munich for one day every 4 to 6 weeks.

Demonstrates extensive experience in technical support within the healthcare IT sector, particularly with PACS systems, DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards. Proficient in Windows Server infrastructures and SQL databases, with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
