Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer – Tailings, Mining Waste Storage

Responsibilities

• Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, construction and operation of tailings and mine waste storage facilities
• Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in a mid- to large, complex projects or several moderately sized projects with greater risk and complexity
• Work with existing and potential clients to provide long-term solutions for mine tailings facilities
• Develop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow Mining practice
• Provide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasks
• Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work
• Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project

Requirements

• BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Master’s OR PhD in Civil Engineering or related field of study preferred
• 12+ years or more of relevant experience preferred
• Demonstrated progressive experience in tailings storage facility design
• Ability to serve as primary point of contact with the client
• Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of standard geotechnical and hydrological software programs
