Senior Safety & Compliance Specialist (f/m/d)

In this Senior Specialist role you own and drive safety and compliance for ground infrastructure, aligning with site, national, and international standards. You act as technical lead across fluid, control, and mechanical disciplines, guiding risk assessments and safety system implementations. You collaborate with engineering, operations, and projects to embed safety early in the lifecycle. • Own and drive safety and compliance for all ground infrastructure systems across projects
• Lead HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews to identify, document, and mitigate risks
• Guide design, selection, and validation of safety-critical components and safety PLC-based architectures
• Define safety processes, documentation standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to integrate safety throughout the lifecycle
• Set priorities and technical goals aligned with product and business needs
• Plan, track, and deliver safety deliverables across project phases

• Degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical, aerospace engineering or similar
• 8+ years in process safety, plant & environmental safety; knowledge in explosion, fire & gas protection
• Proven decision-making and interface management with suppliers, certification bodies, and authorities
• Deep understanding of safety engineering, including HAZOP, FMEA, and risk assessment in regulated industries
• Experience with safety standards (IEC 61508/61511, ISO 13849, SIL/PL)
• Knowledge of safety-critical components (valves, sensors, interlocks, pressure systems)
• Strong ownership, accountability, and communication skills
