Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Partner Integrations

As the founding Backend Engineer, you will set the technical defaults and own end-to-end integration for ClickHouse Cloud in diverse customer environments. You’ll shape architecture for auth, multi-tenancy, data movement, and production reliability, while coordinating with partner platforms and internal teams. The role blends hands-on delivery, on-call ownership, and documentation-driven direction in a fast-growing startup context. You’ll influence the team’s trajectory by writing design docs and RFCs that capture your decisions and rationale. • Own end-to-end integration design, code, and production system for ClickHouse Cloud in customer environments
• Define architectural defaults: authentication, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance, and production operations
• On-call ownership of infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability for your work
• Work with external platforms you cannot change, clearly defining own vs. external risks
• Collaborate with internal teams, clarify interfaces, and maintain momentum through unblockers
• Document direction and decisions to shape the team’s future

• 5+ years building software, especially data-heavy or integration systems
• Strong backend and systems instincts with deployment topology and multi-tenancy experience
• Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, identity federation
• Experience shipping on someone else’s platform with imperfect docs and breaking changes
• Comfort in ambiguity and ability to ship before specs are finished, with sensible tradeoffs
• Collaborative working style with other engineers and trust-building
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for quick collaboration
• Experience using AI tools effectively and honestly
• Strong writing skills for design docs, PRs, and RFCs
