(Senior) Specialist External Reporting (m/f/d)

In this role you lead the preparation and publication of BASF Group’s external financial reports in an IFRS environment. You ensure compliance, consistency and clear disclosures across notes, management reports, and regulatory filings. You act as the main contact for external auditors and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed governance in external reporting. You translate complex topics into decision‑useful disclosures and contribute to strategic, restructuring, and acquisition-related projects. • Own the preparation and publication of external financial reports (annual/interim statements, Lagebericht, regulatory filings)
• Ensure IFRS compliance and alignment with accounting policies and consolidated figures
• Develop and maintain the disclosure tool; translate complex accounting topics into clear disclosures
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors; coordinate audits and present judgments
• Participate in cross‑functional projects (reorganizations, carve‑outs, acquisitions) with governance implications
• Collaborate with Consolidation, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, ESG and Investor Relations to ensure consistent messaging and high-quality reporting outputs

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• ≥5 years of experience in external reporting, audit or related areas
• Strong knowledge of IFRS-based external financial reporting
• Understanding of end‑to‑end group reporting processes (closings, disclosures, publication cycles)
• Analytical and drafting skills for audit-ready disclosures
• Digital and AI focus to enhance efficiency and quality
• Excellent English; familiarity with SAP ERP, disclosure tools and MS Office
• Clear communication and stakeholder management, confidence with auditors and cross‑functional teams
