Site IT Lead & Technology Business Partner - Part Time/Full Time

Role Overview

The Site IT Lead partners with local Plant Managers and site leadership teams to drive demand for new technology requests and enable day‑to‑day manufacturing and quality operations. The role ensures the full portfolio of manufacturing‑specific TGS work is delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligns with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep knowledge of the local manufacturing environment, its goals, roadmaps, business processes, and key personnel.
  • Establish and earn a strategic, value‑adding partnership with Plant management, regional Plant IT, and the TGS function.
  • Partner with Plant leadership to plan joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and integrate them into roadmaps and priorities.
  • Measure benefits of TGS investments, communicate value through agreed metrics and analysis, own SLAs, and report to site management.
  • Serve as the single focal point for site leadership, coordinating with TGS corporate, InfoSec, and managed vendors.
  • Identify and define opportunities to leverage technology or process redesign to support cost optimization, risk mitigation, and compliance.
  • Lead and guide the local IT team in supporting plant operations and outsourced support staff.
  • Ensure solutions are integrated across the environment and aligned with BD’s enterprise roadmaps.
  • Manage projects to provide consistent communication on status, manage escalations, and minimize risk.
  • Build knowledge and capability in manufacturing technologies, emerging trends, and existing investments.
  • Account for lifecycle management of infrastructure, applications, and services, including strategy for retire, replace, or retain.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of technical background in infrastructure, PC server, firewall, network, development, or manufacturing execution systems; experience in manufacturing setup preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience across multiple process and technology capabilities in manufacturing, ideally in the medical device sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead service providers remotely.
  • Strong influence skills, breaking down silos across and within organizations.
  • Excellent communication of complex technical challenges in a simplified manner.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement, project management tools, and phases.
  • Exceptional ability to lead change positively and collaboratively.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization, manage ambiguity, and handle parallel priorities.
  • Proficiency in mentoring and motivating others.
  • Analytical, evaluative, and problem‑solving abilities, with excellent judgment and decision‑making.
  • Strong listening, creativity, and negotiation skills; humility and ownership mindset.
