For our R&D Center in Raunheim, near Frankfurt, we are looking for a Smart Cockpit Product management Engineer.

Job Responsibilities

  • tsMethodology & Baseline Definitio n: Establish globally unified baselines for cockpit functions and scenarios, define user personas, outline regional ecosystem scopes, and create questionnaire dimensions and template
  • s.Macro Trend Analysi s: Track global automotive technology trends, the evolution of large-model‑powered cockpits, and the product and technology roadmaps of top global player
  • s.Local User Insight s: Conduct in-home interviews and observe in‑car cockpit behaviors of overseas local users to generate "native user personas"
  • Competitor Teardown n: Perform in-depth teardowns of cockpit features and configurations of popular local competitors (e.g., European VW ID series, local Japanese and Korean vehicles)
  • Local Risk Mitigation n: Conduct proactive research to avoid risks related to cultural customs, religious beliefs, local cultural characteristics, social norms, geopolitical compliance guidelines, public policy requirements, local laws and regulations, specific cultural/customary needs, and specialized localization scenario
  • Requirement Alignment t: Evaluate the universality of regional research findings, identify local "non-core requirements" (pseudo‑needs), and confirm and filter specific needs to be added to the global requirement pool

Product Definition & Requirement Planning

  • ingGlobal Platform Function Definition (Base) : Define the core backbone functions of the smart cockpit (e.g., underlying vehicle control logic, foundational IVI framework, global account system), and deliver PRD document
  • ts.Core HMI Design & Requirement Input : Distill global universal business logic into interaction requirements, communicate regional differentiations to local product and HMI/UX design teams, and track technical feasibility
  • ty.Regional Differentiation Planning : Based on local insights, draft region‑specific functional requirements (e.g., integrating specific local Apps) as prerequisites for design and R'
  • Local HMI Solution Review : Review UI/UX prototypes delivered by the design team to ensure alignment with local habits (e.g., right‑hand drive screen layouts, Middle Eastern RTL mirroring)
  • Requirement Prioritization & Resource Allocation : Consolidate requirements from major markets into a global resource pool, scheduling and allocating budgets based on sales volume weighting and compliance urgency
  • Global Strategic Supplier Communication : Lead product communications and feature‑level integration with global ecosystem giants (e.g., Google, Spotify)
  • Local Vertical Ecosystem Exploration : Engage with local vertical ecosystem suppliers with high entry barriers (e.g., Naver in Korea, Grab in Southeast Asia, Anghami in the Middle East), gather user feedback, and evaluate global product acceptance
  • Local Ecosystem Technology Selection : Evaluate the technological maturity and security compliance risks of local suppliers, ensure alignment with the mainline product, and finalize integration solutions in coordination with HQ budget management

Legal Compliance & Technology Market

  • Global Compliance Baseline & Security Architecture : Formulate privacy policies and data compliance product mechanisms that meet stringent regulations like GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (North America)
  • Regional Regulatory Red‑line Review : Outline the latest local mandatory regulations, research their impact on the product, and issue professional representations
  • Official Compliance Certification & Defense : Collaborate with HQ technical experts and overseas local certification bodies to complete real‑vehicle inspections, local security certifications, and cross‑border data transfer review

Testing, Verification & Release Operations

  • Core Code R&D Coordination : Track global R&D progress, conduct walkthroughs of core business logic, and ensure functional viability
  • Global OTA Strategy & Rollout Planning : Define underlying OTA distribution strategies, control global data pipeline costs, and manage the product roadmap for phased/canary releases (Beta testing)
  • Local Real‑Vehicle Road Testing & Black‑Box Verification : Oversee black‑box testing in real‑world environments, covering local SIM card dialing, GPS drift in complex navigation scenarios, and multi‑lingual voice wake‑up rates in actual vehicles
  • Multi‑Language Copy & Interface On‑Device Proofreading : Review multi‑lingual interfaces submitted by design and translation teams in a real‑vehicle environment to ensure text is not truncated and fits the local context
  • Local Cloud Configuration & Holiday Operations : Coordinate cloud configuration activation strategies for local holidays (e.g., Eid al‑Fitr, Thanksgiving) on the head unit and schedule localized aggregation operations
  • Regional Version Full‑Release Sign‑off : Jointly sign off on full‑scale rollout decisions based on local real‑vehicle acceptance results and HQ underlying performance

Post‑Launch Feedback & Continuous Iteration

  • Global Objective Data Monitoring : Utilize a globally unified data tracking system to monitor metrics and plan functional iteration and optimization roadmap
  • Local Subjective VOC Collection & Empowerment : Monitor local car owner forums and App Store complaints, compile negative experience reports, and provide new release training for local retail
  • Local Feature Activity Tracking : Track click‑through and retention rates for region‑specific features (e.g., local navigation, specific aggregated ecosystems) to assess ecosystem value
  • Lifecycle & Sunset Decision‑Making : Regularly review global and regional data to jointly decide whether to continue optimizing or directly sunset low‑frequency features

Position Requirements

  • Requirements: Bachelor's degree or above in Vehicle Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Familiar with cockpit testing processes, with experience in automotive infotainment system testing
  • Possess English communication skills, able to adapt to overseas business trips
  • Understanding of CAN/LIN bus and diagnostic protocols is preferred
