Job Overview

Welcome to work as a social worker at the North Savo Wellbeing Services Area! We are hiring a SOCIAL WORKER for a permanent position starting from 3 August 2026 or as agreed. The workplace is located in Porvoo, within the Housing Services for Working‑Age Adults.

This role emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, service assessment, and developing individualized service solutions for clients. The work includes evaluating service needs, preparing client plans, and working closely with various partners. It also involves decision‑making regarding client services under the Social Welfare Act. The position is diverse and requires independent judgment, decision‑making skills, and knowledge of relevant laws.

We offer an interesting job as part of the working‑age adults' housing services team. The team includes a supervisor, social worker, two specialised social instructors, a social instructor, two guides, and an office secretary.

We provide orientation and a supportive, enthusiastic work community. Our environment is development‑oriented and engaging. Your work will be supported by regular team meetings and direct supervisor support. Flexible working hours and remote work options are available by agreement. Occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen.

Qualifications

• Degree as a social worker according to the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015) § 7 and registration in the social and health care professionals register (JulkiSuosikki).
• Good oral and written skills in one native language and satisfactory skills in another.
• Work is mobile, so a driver’s licence and personal vehicle are advantageous. The team has access to leased cars.
• If qualified applicants are unavailable, the position may temporarily be filled for up to one year with a student studying for a social worker qualification who has completed basic and intermediate social work studies and related practical training.

Employment Conditions

Terms of employment are governed by the social and health care personnel’s collective agreement (SOTE). The working hours are 37.75 hours per week. The salary for the position is €4,220.95 per month. The position has a six‑month probation period.

The appointment is conditional upon a health assessment by occupational health services within one month of starting work, and proof of vaccination against infectious diseases and tuberculosis screening as required by law. The selected candidate must also provide a criminal record extract before assuming the position.
