Position Overview

Adjunct Faculty – Sociology and Behavioral Sciences (Undergraduate) at UMGC Europe, located in Hohenfels, Germany.

Responsibilities

• Engage adult learners through frequent interaction, motivating them to succeed and conveying genuine enthusiasm for learning.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning through problem- and project-based demonstrations.
• Provide regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics for assessment and acknowledging student accomplishments.
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject‑matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
• Provide feedback to the program chair on possible curricular improvements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional experience in the field of Sociology, Behavioral Sciences, or related disciplines.
• Experience teaching adult learners in higher education, preferably online.
• Local applicants only; must maintain legal status in Germany.
• Must successfully complete UMGC online new faculty orientation, FacDev 122, as a condition of hire.

Location and Logistics

On‑site teaching in Hohenfels, Germany. Adjunct faculty positions do not receive UMGC sponsored logistical support; applicants must arrange their own accommodations.

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience; pay range: Non‑PhD Step 1 $903 – Step 16 $1,173 per credit hour. PhD Step 1 $931 – Step 16 $1,215 per credit hour.
