Software Engineer III (Remote - US)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications and other enterprise software systems.
• Review functional requirements and draft implementation plans.
• Contribute new unit tests and promptly fix failing tests in continuous integration checks.
• Collaborate with internal clients to debug, reproduce, document, and fix production support problems.
• Perform code reviews on colleagues’ contributions to the codebase.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as stand‑up meetings and pointing discussions.
• Lead technical analysis and discussions with internal clients, project managers, and other engineers.
• Specialize in one or more codebases to become the go‑to engineer for bugs or new feature implementation plans.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Candidates with 7 or more years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Python and Django; other object‑oriented languages and frameworks are also considered.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar.
• Effective communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborative software development.
• Significant JavaScript and React experience is a plus.
• Energy‑related professional experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience with the pay band of $115,000k - $135,000k/Annually. Benefits include a generous retirement package, medical, dental, and vision insurance, other pre‑tax contribution plans, and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Locations and Remote Work

This position offers a hybrid work model. Employees may work from any of our office locations in Oakland, CA; Orange, CA; Portland, OR; Boston, MA; or New York, NY. Remote candidates from other U.S. states are also considered.
