As a Procurement Specialist, you will drive sourcing and procurement for polymers, molded plastics, and mechanical components to reduce costs and improve supply reliability. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, finance, and legal to align material needs with production schedules and supplier performance. You’ll lead vendor negotiations, contract management, and data-driven spend analysis to optimize total cost of ownership. This role helps CommScope secure resilient supply chains for fiber optics and related materials. You will work in a cross-functional environment shaping procurement strategies for critical production inputs.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and TCO improvements across assigned categories (polymers, molded plastics, mechanical components)


• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, predict cost trends, and assess supply chain risks


• Lead renegotiations of vendor contracts and terms for best value


• Implement e-sourcing tools and data analysis to optimize procurement processes


• Analyze market trends for fiber optic components and raw materials to inform sourcing


• Maintain procurement records and documentation for audits and reporting


• Identify, evaluate, onboard suppliers for polymers, molded plastics, mechanical parts including sheet metal and machined components, raw fiber, protective jacketing materials, strength members


• Manage contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiating, and ensuring legal compliance with support from legal


• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships for continuous improvement and reliable supply


• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs related to quality, delivery, and cost and address discrepancies


• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and legal to align procurement with business objectives and production schedules

Responsabilità

• 10+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing, preferably telecom or fiber optics


• Experience as Procurement Specialist or similar role in manufacturing (fiber optics or related)


• Expertise in procuring polymers, molded plastics, and mechanical components including sheet metal and machined parts, raw fiber, protective jacketing materials, strength members


• Experience managing contract manufacturing relationships and agreements


• Proven track record of cost reduction and measurable savings


• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills


• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel


• Power BI proficiency for data visualization and spend analysis


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail abilities


• Excellent communication and collaboration across internal stakeholders
