Sr. Commodity Buyer (m/f/d)

Senior Commodity Buyer – the position is based in our HQ offices in Hannover, Germany.

Responsibilities

• Drive all strategic sourcing activities – from spend and supply market analysis, benchmarking, RFI/RFP and should-cost analysis, through to negotiation, business cases, and contract award.
• Develop the regional category strategy in line with our processes and corporate objectives – and implement it.
• Evaluate supplier performance, build strategic partnerships, and further develop existing relationships.
• Negotiate and implement supplier contracts and optimize payment terms with a view to regional and corporate goals.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and actively contribute to cross-functional cost reduction and new product launch projects.
• Lead standardization and improvement initiatives and support the maintenance of our procurement systems (SAP, e-procurement).
• Live and promote adherence to our Procurement and Corporate Ethics policies and represent your area in internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Commercial and/or technical education; bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum six years of professional experience in procurement (preferred), sales, program management, or a related field.
• Solid expertise in category management and strategic sourcing, and modern purchasing practices.
• Strong negotiation skills and confident supplier relationship management.
• Strong in market and data analysis, project management, and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of European laws and regulations; experience with e-procurement systems is a plus.
• Business-fluent English; a second language (ideally German) is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, creativity, a drive for innovation, and genuine team orientation.
