Staff Development Engineer - Ultrasonic Flow Sensors / Sensor Systems

We are partnered with a global leader in high-performance environmental and ultrasonic sensing solutions. The team is looking to hire a Senior/Staff Development Engineer to lead the architecture and validation of advanced flow modules, driving innovation in sensor system development.

This is a permanent working opportunity based in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Key responsibilities for this Senior/Staff Development Engineer position:

• Lead the full product development lifecycle for flow sensor modules, from initial design to validation.


• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including product specifications and datasheets.


• Perform detailed root-cause analysis of device failures to ensure high reliability.


• Manage cooperation with external subcontractors and support production test processes.


• Optimize designs for yield, manufacturability, and testability (DFT/DFM).


• Provide technical support to Marketing and Sales teams to align product capabilities with customer needs.

Key requirements:

• M.Sc. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Material Sciences.


• 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor/electronics industry, specifically in sensor system development.


• Deep expertise in ultrasonic flow sensor principles and Time-of-Flight (ToF) measurement.


• Proficient in electronic circuit and module design for sensing applications.


• Experience with measurement automation and complex data extraction.


• Familiarity with 3D-printing and molding tools is highly beneficial.


• Fluency in German is required for this position
