Staff Product Manager, OpenTelemetry | Germany | Remote

As Staff Product Manager for OpenTelemetry Experience, you own the end-to-end journey enabling workloads to emit healthy, actionable telemetry to Grafana Cloud. You will define a coherent onboarding and instrumentation experience across SDKs, automatic instrumentation, and collectors, guiding users and coding agents. You’ll collaborate across engineering, design, and GTM to ensure a first-class OpenTelemetry experience and measurably improve activation and telemetry quality. This role combines product leadership with AI-enabled research and ecosystem engagement to drive adoption in a global, remote team.

• Define vision, strategy, and cross-product roadmap for the OpenTelemetry journey to healthy telemetry in Grafana Cloud
• Design coherent onboarding and instrumentation experiences across SDKs, automatic instrumentation, and Collector deployment
• Identify and reduce setup failure points, misconfiguration, and low-quality telemetry
• Establish shared experience principles and success criteria across teams
• Prioritize investments using customer research and product data to improve onboarding and telemetry outcomes
• Partner with downstream Grafana Cloud solution teams for a smooth telemetry-to-activation transition
• Shape product positioning, launches, and adoption programs with Product Marketing and GTM
• Collaborate with multiple orgs (Engineering, Design, Docs, DevRel, PM, GTM) to deliver a differentiated OpenTelemetry experience
• Represent Grafana in OpenTelemetry ecosystem discussions
• Apply AI tools to accelerate customer research, analyze signals, prototype experiences, and test agent-led journeys

• 5+ years of Product Management in developer tools or observability domains
• Experience leading strategy across multiple engineering teams without direct authority
• Strong OpenTelemetry knowledge (SDK instrumentation, OTLP, Collector, semantic conventions)
• Experience with instrumentation systems or related infrastructure
• Understanding of deploying software across Kubernetes, VMs, and clouds
• Ability to translate onboarding workflows into clear product experiences
• Experience using customer research and data to drive outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote, distributed teams
