Staff Software Engineer - Security Agent

As a Staff Software Engineer in the Security Agent team, you shape the design and delivery of Linux runtime security technologies at scale. You lead architecture and development of eBPF-based capabilities that detect threats and protect cloud-native workloads across Datadog products. You collaborate across product, security, and engineering teams, driving end-to-end delivery and advancing testing and performance. • Lead architecture and development of security agent capabilities for runtime threat detection and workload protection
• Design and build reusable eBPF-based monitoring for process, file, and network visibility on Linux
• Drive end-to-end delivery from strategy and design through implementation, testing, and rollout
• Establish testing methodologies to improve platform coverage, detection quality, reliability, and performance
• Partner with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to deliver shared platform capabilities
• Provide technical leadership, mentor peers, and help resolve cross-functional challenges

• Significant experience building software in Linux environments with knowledge of Linux internals, kernel APIs, or systems programming
• Hands-on experience with eBPF, kernel-level instrumentation, driver development, networking systems, or related low-level tech
• Experience building and running production software where performance and reliability matter
• Experience delivering production-grade software across diverse Linux distributions and kernel versions
