Study Start Up Associate

As a Study Start Up Associate at ICON, you drive the initiation of clinical trials by coordinating site start-up activities and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with internal teams, CROs, and site partners to enhance SSU metrics and ensure timely activation. You’ll review essential documents and help minimize delays, contributing to faster access to innovative therapies. This role offers hands-on impact within a values-driven, collaborative environment.

• Collaborate with assigned sites to collect and review essential documents (ICF, FDF, 1572, CVs, etc.)
• Partner with internal Study Startup team, CROs, and TAU to improve SSU metrics and processes
• Apply consistent standards to SSU processes across projects
• Review site essential documents for start-up readiness
• Identify and escalate potential activation delays to keep timelines
• Track actions/communications with sites to meet study/site timelines
• Support issue resolution identified by CROs and Clinical Operations in partnership with the internal SSU team
• Review and provide feedback on site performance metrics
• Ensure accuracy/completeness of the eTMF for assigned sites during start-up

• BS degree or international equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in clinical research Site Start Up within pharma, CRO, or relevant vendor
• Ability to explain data to support data-driven decision making
• Knowledge of clinical study protocols and essential documents
• Strong organizational, decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
