Subject Matter Expert - Laboratory Automation

Overview

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Laboratory Automation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for QCX projects throughout all phases of execution.
  • Support project engineering, commissioning, and system start-up at customer sites, including international travel when required.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to improve and enhance the QCX product portfolio.
  • Contribute to development, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and other technical improvement initiatives.
  • Share customer feedback and field experience to help shape future product development.
  • Support the sales team by providing technical expertise during customer discussions, proposal preparation, and project risk assessments.
  • Build strong customer relationships through regular site visits and technical consultations, with a focus on the DACH region.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers, helping to strengthen technical knowledge across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in industrial automation, process control, or control system engineering.
  • Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
  • Strong understanding of software-driven automation solutions and system integration.
  • Experience working collaboratively with product development or R&D teams is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on approach.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support customers and project execution.
