Technical Architect (m/f/d)*

As Technical Architect for the Developer Platform Engineering initiative, you will design and operate Munich Re's internal developer platform to provide self-service tools, standardized templates, and automated workflows. You will shape platform architecture, ensure secure and compliant standards, and drive a product-minded DX that accelerates software delivery. This role sits in Enterprise Architecture, guiding platform strategy across the group. You will collaborate with architects, developers, and operations to deliver scalable, secure solutions that reduce complexity and enable innovation.

• Design and drive the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) as a product with scalable architecture and reusable standards
• Evolve platform architecture, components, and interfaces for a unified developer experience across infrastructure and services
• Enable self-service and automation via standardized templates, APIs, and workflows for provisioning, CI/CD, and infrastructure
• Ensure platform reliability, monitoring, performance, and lifecycle management of services
• Embed security-by-design, governance, and regulatory alignment in platform components
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers, and operations to align platform with governance and business needs
• Adopt a platform-as-a-product mindset and improve developer experience with AI-enabled capabilities
• Integrate toolchains and services (CI/CD, source control, observability, artifact management) into a unified ecosystem

• University degree, preferably in Computer Science, IT or similar field
• 3+ years in a fast-paced, global and regulated environment with software development and architecture experience
• Knowledge of cloud/service-based architecture based on MS Azure technologies, Microservices
• Experience with DevOps principles and Azure DevOps and Git (source control, branching, merging, code reviews)
• Ability to balance alternatives against business/financial constraints and estimate architectural impact
• Strong proficiency in architectural standards, design, design reviews, and process analysis/re-design
• Willingness to travel as required
