Position: Technical Lead Consultant – Cloud Engineering
The Berlin data studio seeks a Technical Lead Consultant with deep cloud expertise to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, production‑grade cloud platforms. This hands‑on engineering role involves full ownership of cloud architecture, automation, and operational excellence while collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions, enhance productivity and continuously improve performance, security, and cost efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and best‑practice recommendations to engineers and clients.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across infrastructure, networking, and applications.
- Deploy, debug, and execute project activities related to cloud computing such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure validation, and application validations.
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud‑based systems, ensuring efficient data storage, observability, security policies, compliance, and access mechanisms.
- Recommend performance and cost optimisations for cloud activities within projects.
- Adapt and extend applications to work with existing or new cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery and maintain quality documentation.
- Engage stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored recommendations.
- Educate and support other engineers on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
Must‑Haves
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
- Proven work experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Developer, DevOps Engineer or similar.
- Experience planning, implementing and managing Azure infrastructures.
- Stakeholder management and direct client contact experience.
- Technical leadership and client advisory experience.
- Deep knowledge of Azure services (Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, AKS, Azure AD, etc.).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Strong understanding of cloud security concepts and best practices.
- AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications are a plus.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Azure (or AWS/GCP) certifications.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Azure Monitor or Grafana.
- Experience with multi‑environment or multi‑tenant cloud platforms.
- FinOps or cost‑optimisation experience.
