Technical Support Engineer (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including evaluating problem descriptions, analyzing log files, and performing remote diagnostics in the installed base. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Product Development, and ABB front‑end organizations, to address complex technical issues and improve products. Build and maintain a technical infrastructure that supports the global team in developing and testing solutions, as well as reproducing product issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in process automation, industrial communication (OPC, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus TCP) is required.
• Knowledge of ABB DCS products such as ABB Ability System 800xA and Symphony Plus would be beneficial.
• Exposure to cybersecurity solutions, virtualization, and edge/cloud technologies.
• High level of self‑motivation, curiosity, and a strong willingness to learn about new technologies.
• Ability to demonstrate ownership, apply a problem‑solving and solution‑oriented mindset, and communicate effectively.
• Negotiation‑level English and fluent German, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.
