Transportation Specialist

Summary

This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), with vacancies in multiple locations.

Major Duties

• Advise on and coordinate Permanent Change of Station (PCS) policy and entitlements throughout NOAA.
• Interpret entitlements related to the shipment and storage of household goods (HHG) and vehicles.
• Plan, coordinate, and review all activities concerning the movement of HHG, vehicles, and personnel.
• Evaluate and provide technical input on the development of new transportation information systems and propose modernization of existing automated transportation management systems.
• Review all PCS documents to assure complete and accurate information and verify authorized benefits and entitlements.
• Confirm and submit Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) vouchers for processing to ensure employees are fully compensated for all tax liabilities.
• Ensure that hiring officials, line offices, and employees receive accurate and timely information on PCS benefits and entitlements.
