Underwriter Facultative Engineering Reinsurance

In this role you join the RD83 Engineering USA/London Market team in Hannover as a permanent Underwriter Facultative Engineering Reinsurance. You will assess and negotiate facultative opportunities from US and London markets, shaping our engineering portfolio in collaboration with international partners. Expect cross-border interaction, risk analysis, and ongoing development of underwriting processes. This position offers a chance to influence global engineering risk coverage while working closely with interdisciplinary teams and traveling internationally.

• Acquire, assess and negotiate facultative reinsurance opportunities from US and London markets
• Analyse engineering submissions
• Monitor markets and competitors to develop the engineering portfolio
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with international business partners
• Help shape underwriting processes and tools with interdisciplinary teams

• Several years of relevant underwriting experience with a primary insurer or reinsurer, ideally in engineering
• Strong technical understanding and ability to analyse complex risks and coverage concepts
• Knowledge of the London and/or US insurance market and willingness to travel internationally
• Business-fluent German and English with clear communication style
• Structured approach, sound judgement and ability to deliver and adapt to change
