Underwriting Director – Inland Marine

Responsibilities

• Directs effective product development, pricing and underwriting
• Manages all components of profit, loss, and expenses for a significant specialty product line
• Achieves profitability and growth goals through the development and execution of annual strategic plan
• Analyzes book trends and manages catastrophe plans
• Communicates and acts on regulatory and legal environments information
• Develops methods for building and mobilizing a technically competent and highly effective staff
• Ensures compliance with underwriting standards and authorities
• Directs underwriting decisions and participates in the creation of underwriting guidelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 10 years insurance experience or related education/experience
• Minimum 5-7 Supervisory/Management years of experience required
• MBA, CPCU or RPLU designation highly desirable
