Overview

UNFCCC is recruiting an Associate Communications Officer (P‑2) to join its Communications and Engagement Division in Bonn, Germany. The role supports internal communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational information-sharing systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of internal communication strategies.
• Monitor communication plans and activities.
• Advise on communication tools and channels.
• Support organizational knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Write articles and internal news stories.
• Develop presentations and communication materials.
• Manage internal email communication and digital platform content.
• Assist with communication support for climate conferences, regional climate weeks, workshops, international meetings, and internal information campaigns.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public information, corporate communications, or related discipline.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in corporate communications, public information or media relations, or related field.
• Experience maintaining communication platforms.
• Knowledge of stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite, UX/UI, and analytics tools (considered an advantage).
