Vaccines Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons

• Lead the performance of the MSL team by setting business objectives and priorities that ensure delivery of Medical Affairs plans and metrics


• Lead, coach, and manage MSL team members to improve performance and develop capabilities


• Set team vision and expectations and drive continuous improvement


• Develop strategy, processes, and capabilities that optimize scientific engagement with external experts


• Ensure consolidated medical insights are shared appropriately across the business and represent external experts and patients


• Integrate the MSL team within Medical Affairs and collaborate with cross-functional business partners


• Work with sales leadership to align Sales and MSL teams


• Prioritize MSL work, resources, staffing levels, and operational budgets


• Recruit MSL talent and facilitate onboarding


• Ensure compliance with GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, guidelines, and laws

Requirements

• Accredited doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D., or M.D./D.O.)


• Six or more years of experience in an MSL organization


• One or more years of demonstrated experience leading a field team


• Two or more years of experience in Vaccines or Infectious Disease


• Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry


• Demonstrated experience in coaching, leading, and management of people for improved performance


• Effective communication skills at all levels of the business


• Strong business mindset and ability to balance cross-functional objectives


• Leadership experience in a matrix environment with demonstrated excellence in cross-functional working to drive business focused outcomes


• Effective networking and collaboration skills to achieve business results


• Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical governance environment


• Significant operational management experience (i.e. resource, budget, project evaluation)


• Strong negotiation and strategic influencing skills


• An understanding clinical development, and statistical design and analysis


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
