Vice President of Software Engineering

Our client, a high-growth fintech company, are searching for a VP of Engineering who can build and lead a world-class in-house engineering organization.

This is a unique opportunity to join a founder-led business at a pivotal stage of growth, taking ownership of the technology function and helping transition from an outsourced engineering model to a high-performing internal team.

The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and play a critical role in shaping the company’s architecture, engineering culture, product velocity, and long-term scalability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning the technical architecture, roadmap, and engineering standards
• Building and leading an in-house engineering team
• Improving deployment speed, reliability, and code quality
• Driving AI-native engineering workflows across the development function
• Partnering closely with product and operations leadership
• Reducing dependency on external development partners

We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical capability with proven leadership experience in fast-paced, product-driven environments.

Ideal background:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in fintech or high-reliability environments
• Strong system architecture and software engineering expertise
• Hands-on technical leader who still enjoys contributing to code
• Experience scaling teams and building engineering processes from the ground up
• AI-native mindset with practical experience leveraging AI tools in software delivery
• Experience working within start-ups or founder-led growth businesses
• Technical exposure to Python and React would be highly beneficial.
