Virtual IAM Leader / Fractional CISO Advisor

Serve as a fractional IAM leader or advisor for mid-market clients that need senior identity strategy without a full-time hire. You'll own program direction, vendor selection, and stakeholder alignment on a part-time basis across one to three clients concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Act as the named IAM leader or CISO advisor for one to three concurrent client programs
• Define IAM roadmaps aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and budget reality
• Lead platform selection including RFPs, vendor demos, and technical evaluations
• Report to client executive leadership and board committees on program status and risk
• Mentor internal client staff and build capability within their IAM function
• Represent client interests during implementation engagements delivered by IdentityLogic engineers
• Stay current on IAM market direction, vendor landscape, and emerging threats

Requirements

• 15+ years IAM or security leadership experience with at least 5 years in a director or CISO-level role
• Prior accountability for IAM programs at mid-market or enterprise scale
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with CIOs, CFOs, boards, and audit committees
• Working familiarity across at least three of: SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, Ping, BeyondTrust, Saviynt, Entra ID
• Comfortable with 1099 contractor engagement model and multi-client concurrency
• US-based

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or CISSP-ISSMP
• Prior IAM industry analyst, advisory firm, or VC portfolio advisor experience
• Board-level reporting experience
• Relationships with IAM vendors and systems integrators

Compensation and benefits

Hourly or monthly retainer based on engagement scope. 1099 contractor structure. Flexible hours with client-driven cadence. Not eligible for W-2 benefits; billable rate adjusted accordingly.
