Role Overview

Responsibilities

1. Perform cell/module/battery abuse tests under guidance or independently, using specialized equipment.
2. Develop and execute destructive analysis and teardowns for root-cause analysis.
3. Prepare tests, including instrumentation, charging, and setup activities.
4. Conduct and supervise cell and battery level testing, adapting to project needs.
5. Collaborate with technicians to achieve test objectives, create work plans, and prioritize tasks.
6. Analyze raw data, document findings, and share reports with technical teams and management.
7. Build, assemble, and troubleshoot test equipment as needed.
8. Maintain and create procedures, SOPs, standards, and conduct staff training.
9. Learn relevant standards and norms related to safety and lab processes.
10. Work with hazardous materials following safety protocols; setup and perform tests in lab environments.
11. Travel up to 20% to test locations if required.

Qualifications

1. Engineering degree, preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering.
2. Hands-on experience with cell, battery, or vehicle testing; experience in related fields is acceptable.
3. Experience with test equipment (cyclers, environmental chambers, DAQs) and data processing software (MATLAB/Python; SQL is a plus).
4. Skills in 3D Design/CAD and wiring/hydraulics diagrams are advantageous.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and organizational skills.
6. HV training/experience is a plus.
7. Driving license class B is a plus.
