CE&S is responsible for all customer-facing services across the company, including consulting, customer success, and support across Microsoft’s portfolio of solutions and products. Global Delivery (GD) is a central team of experienced CSA employees and partners that support Microsoft customers on their hybrid/public cloud journey through efficient, repeatable delivery processes. Our security team in Germany includes nearly 20 technical experts who help public sector and enterprise clients maximize business value with Microsoft’s products, services, frontier AI, and partnerships.

About

We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA), specializing in Data Security who is passionate about driving our customers’ security & AI transformation on the Microsoft Platform. This person will be a trusted advisor for customers attempting to secure their entire data estates against internal and external data risk. Microsoft Purview’s integrated Data Security services support customers holistically securing data by:

What Microsoft Purview Data Security covers

• Search, identify, and export electronic data across Microsoft 365 for legal, regulatory, or investigative purposes.
• Protecting Sensitive Data using data classification, sensitivity labelling and encryption policies.
• Managing Insider Risks using machine learning detection controls and indicators, adaptive protection to dynamically enforce controls and advanced privacy controls.
• Preventing Data Loss using built in exfiltration policies for Microsoft 365 apps, services and endpoints.

This role requires 1 day per week in-office.

Responsibilities

• Drive positive Customer Satisfaction and become a trusted advisor, providing feedback and insights from customers/partners and acting as the Voice of the Customer to share insights and best practices, connect with Global Security teams at Microsoft, Engineering and Product teams to remove blockers and influence the solution roadmap.
• Land an end-to-end value prop for Security (i.e., Zero Trust) spanning the breadth of Microsoft Security offerings, with a focus on Data Protection, Threat Protection, ID + Access Management and Cloud Security.
• Support customers through the adoption lifecycle—planning, adoption, deployment and optimization—driving increased use of Microsoft security products and leading technical solutioning across the customer journey.
• Deliver technical presentations & demos, propose high-level solutions, and work with key Microsoft and Partner resources to drive deployment & customer adoption. Identify cross-sell/upsell/Unified opportunities through customer engagement.
• Align individual skilling to team/area demands and Customer Success goals; accelerate customer outcomes and contribute to IP creation & reuse to accelerate outcomes.
• Run Architectural Design Sessions to build a plan for implementing the solution, ensuring design aligns with customer goals and technical environment; achieve consensus on solution design and next steps toward production.
• Collaborate with other Cloud Solution Architects and MS stakeholders including FastTrack, partners, and Microsoft Consulting to develop complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions with the Microsoft Security platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5+ years’ experience in Data Security / Information Security Management, or related field AND 3+ years of working in cloud infrastructure, IT consulting/support, systems administration, architecture and/or software development.
• 8+ years experience in a customer-facing role (internal and/or external).
• 8+ years experience on technical projects.
• Technical Certification in On-Premise and Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google, security certifications).
• Experience in end-to-end implementation of Data Security projects and knowledge of Microsoft Purview architectures (eDiscovery, Information Protection, DLP, Information Risk Management) at enterprise scale.
• Understanding of the current data security market, regulations/certifications (e.g., ISO27001, NIS-2, TISAX) and developments in data security.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 services and/or Azure data services (SharePoint, Teams, Office 365, SQL, Azure Data Lake).
• Subject Matter Expertise in at least two of the following: Microsoft Purview eDiscovery, Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, etc.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor and drive customer value.
• Knowledge in Threat protection, SIEM/IR, XDR, SOAR, SOC Management, IAM, Cloud Security, Data Security; certifications in relevant technologies preferred (e.g., Microsoft 365 Security Administrator, Microsoft Security Operations, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC).
