What you do:

• Implementation of a metadata-driven lakehouse data platform based on Microsoft Fabric and the Medallion architecture
• Support in the development of a business data model using the Data Vault modeling technique
• Design and implementation of ELT processes to populate the business data model implemented in the Lakehouse from the data sources
• Coordination with the internal and, if necessary, external customers involved to clarify requirements
• Development and guidance of junior employees
• Implementation and enforcement of best practices, development standards and architecture specifications
• Establishment of a data-driven corporate culture and data governance

What we want from you:

• Completed studies in the field of computer science, business informatics, mathematics, data science or a comparable field of study
• Several years (4+ years) of professional experience as a data engineer or in another position dealing with the required technologies and concepts
• Sound knowledge of the data tech stack used at marcapo: Linux (including shell scripting), Git, Python, (Py)Spark, Hadoop, Hive and HDFS
• Sound knowledge of data handling: SQL, relational and non-relational data and databases, interface technologies such as REST and Kafka, data modeling with Data Vault, data formats such as CSV, JSON, Parquet and Delta
• Ideally knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure DevOps
• Ideally knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
• Optional: Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and the administration of Microsoft Azure via Terraform / OpenTofu
• Strong initiative, social skills and independent working style
• Very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and good written and spoken English skills
