Director of BESS Project Development

Director of Project Development – Renewable Energy (Bavaria)

ERSG Ltd is hiring a Director of Project Development for a renewable energy scale‑up in Bavaria, Germany. The role will focus on driving the future success of the company by managing the full lifecycle of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead land acquisition and engagement with key stakeholders including municipalities, grid operators and landowners.
• Oversee and manage all phases of the EPC stage and project design.
• Review project profitability and develop standards and protocols to ensure consistent quality.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain regular travel to headquarters (once per quarter) in a hybrid work arrangement.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience in managing BESS project lifecycles from acquisition through EPC.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy project financing and profitability analysis.
• Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and drive project deliverables.
