Electrical Design Engineer R&D

Overview

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Alfen, you'll work in a multidisciplinary R&D team to develop and optimize electrical systems that drive the energy transition. You translate electrical concepts into concrete, detailed designs that are technically sound, safe, and compliant with current standards. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues in mechanical design, software development, and production to create integrated solutions. You'll also maintain and further develop existing products using tools such as EPLAN P8 and Pro Panel.

Responsibilities

• Drafting functional specifications and translating them into component selections
• Designing electrical schematics in EPLAN P8 and panel layouts in Pro Panel
• Maintaining and improving existing products, including implementing component changes
• Contributing to the standardization of electrical designs across our product portfolio
• Applying relevant standards, guidelines, and safety requirements (e.g., NEN, IEC)
• Supporting prototyping and initial production series

What we expect from you?

• A completed bachelor\'s degree (HBO) in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years work experience
• Experience in a (R&D) design or engineering role or within a technical project environment
• Knowledge of EPLAN P8; experience with Pro Panel is a plus
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
