Environmental Health & Safety Advisor (Data Center) (m / f / d)

Our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team is growing and so you are! You will work in a central function that provides critical health & safety oversight across all lines of business. This position is to support data center builds and operations, ensuring compliance with EHS requirements such as site selection, technical document reviews, statutory regulation assessment, risk analyses, and both pre- and post-go-live operational support.

As an EHS Advisor in Germany you are required to meet both operational needs and compliance with global EHS regulations (OSHA and equivalent, EPA, ISO 45001, and relevant local laws), support other lines of business to meet internal business and customer compliance SLA’s due to increased data center footprint, diverse product types and technologies, increasing client demands to meet higher safety standards and heightened regulatory and operational risk.

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors by implementing and monitoring EHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local and international regulations. In this role you will also support EHS compliance and best practices within Oracle’s cloud environments, including data centers and related operational facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
• German-specific EHS certification (. Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, Sicherheitszertifikat, Sicherheitsbeauftragter)
• Proven experience in an EHS advisor or similar role, within the technology, cloud services, or data center industries
• In-depth knowledge of German and EU EHS regulations
• Experience with EHS compliance programs in data center environments
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and influence across different teams, including construction projects and cloud operations
• Fluent language skills in German and English

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of EHS standards across Oracle’s footprint
• Develop, implement and maintain EHS policies and procedures according to German and EU legislation
• Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections - both in traditional office settings and within data center or cloud infrastructure environments
• Advise on health, safety, and environmental requirements related to cloud operations, data centers and technical facilities
• Coordinate and deliver EHS training and awareness programs, tailoring content for technical and non-technical staff
• Investigate incidents, accidents and near-misses; recommend corrective actions, including support for root-cause analysis in critical cloud infrastructure operations
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, contractors and internal stakeholders, including those responsible for cloud and IT operations
• Maintain documentation and prepare reports on EHS performance and compliance
• Stay informed about changes in EHS regulations, best practices and technological advances
