The firm focuses on businesses undergoing transformation, including restructuring, spin-offs, and capital intensive growth. With a strong commitment to sustainable and responsible investing, we are expanding our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investment portfolio and seeking a highly motivated Investment Manager to join the team in Frankfurt.
Role Overview:
As an Investment Manager – ESG Portfolio, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities with a strong ESG focus. You will support deal origination, due diligence, financial modelling, and portfolio management, working closely with senior investment professionals to drive value creation in sustainable investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify ESG-focused investment opportunities in mid-sized companies across the DACH region.
- Perform financial modelling, valuation analysis, and due diligence on potential investment targets.
- Assess ESG risks and opportunities in target companies, integrating sustainability criteria into investment decision-making.
- Support transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution processes.
- Monitor and analyse portfolio companies, driving ESG improvements and value creation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including management teams, advisors, and industry experts.
- Stay up to date with ESG regulations, reporting standards, and best practices in responsible investing.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 4 + years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate M&A, with exposure to ESG investing preferred.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability trends.
- Solid financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence skills.
- Experience in executing M&A transactions and analysing investment opportunities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in German and English is required; additional European language skills are a plus.
