Position description
The Finance Lead oversees the Finance operations and performance of the Cluster. Ensures the financial objectives are established and met in a consistent and compliant way. Manages the Finance organization across the Cluster and maintains optimal resource allocation. Ensures compliant and reliable local and corporate reporting. The Finance Lead is a member of the Zoetis DACH Leadership Team and supports it with all finance related matters including the development of business strategies and key strategic and operational decisions. The Finance Lead ensures an effective internal controls environment and adherence to statutory requirements for the entities in all markets.
What you can expect
- Support all business interactions relating to financial performance and strategic business decisions and plans
- Present business results, financial projections and financial analyses to senior management. Participate in business reviews and represent the financial implications of the business strategy to local, regional and international leadership
- Work with the Center of Excellence and the local business in the development of the financial budget and financial forecast
- Serve as the financial advisor to local leadership on key commercial decisions and business strategies. Monitor, track and report business performance with proactive identification of issues, opportunities and challenges. Ensure that the business utilizes its resources in the most efficient manner
- Support and manage major change initiatives as necessary, including business development activities, integration of new businesses, migration to new financial systems and processes and finance transformation activities as deemed necessary
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and submission in accordance with US GAAP, local/statutory accounting standards, Zoetis policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations for the respective markets
- Ensure timely and complete compliance to local statutory and tax filing requirements
- Interact as necessary with government agencies, fiscal authorities, financial institutions and industry organizations. Be able to clearly articulate Zoetis\' position on key matters and issues
- Ensure an effective internal control environment. Coordinate the planning and lead the execution of local internal and external audit work
- Supervise the financial controller and provide guidance and evaluation of the center team members. Work closely with Zoetis Finance Services to ensure all month-end activities are completed and accurate for the local market
- Work closely with the treasury center on cash management, annual dividend and banking matters
What you bring with you
- University degree in finance, accounting or business administration
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., Certified Accountant or equivalent) and/or Master\'s degree are considered advantages
- 8-12 years post-qualification experience
- Knowledge of local statutory and tax requirements
- Experience in the Animal Health industry is a plus
- Prior experience leading change in a dynamic business environment
- People management experience preferred
- Strong preference for solid international exposure
- Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of accounting, tax, treasury, internal controls (SOX), financial systems and processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing
- Ability to influence and drive decision making with commercial leadership
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines on multiple projects and activities
- Work effectively in a team environment and build collaborative relationships with peers and other stakeholders
- German and English language preferred
