Position Title: Frozen Production Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Frozen Production Manager to lead the frozen production function in our Greenfield Project, Germany . You will be accountable for executing all aspects of the frozen production function, from project inception through full-scale plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Before Start-up: Ensure operational practices are strategically developed and implemented prior to plant start-up, with emphasis on the introduction of new technologies and digital manufacturing. Opportunity to build and develop your team from scratch.
- After Start-up: Manage the frozen area from potato peeling to finished product palletizing with responsibility for Safety, Quality, Sustainability performance and financial results of the zone. Optimize New Technologies and Digital Manufacturing tools.
- Uphold operational effectiveness and cultivate a Food Safety Culture across the production area.
- Report to Plant Manager / SuM Manager and collaborate with SuM Team, Regional and Global Support Team and Engineering Team.

What You’ll Do
- Before Start-up : Drive readiness for operational start-up, ensure adoption of new technologies (MES, SCADA/HMI, PLC, robotics, IoT/IIoT) and digital manufacturing solutions.
- Lead basic and detailed design reviews with internal and external stakeholders, focusing on safety, food quality, sustainability, and optimal material flow.
- Develop and execute comprehensive readiness checklists modeled after best-practice systems from established McCain plants.
- Identify and mitigate operational, food safety, environmental and compliance risks.
- Participate in recruitment at department level, conduct interviews, motivate, appraise, and train staff; drive skills development and cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
- After Start-up : Coordinate all aspects of the production area to deliver safety, quality, quantity, cost and timelines.
- Leverage Industry 4.0 tools for production scheduling, process optimization, and performance management (Power BI, ERP/MES reporting).
- Present actionable insights and root cause analyses to senior leadership based on real-time data and predictive maintenance indicators.
- Foster continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environment, quality and cost, engaging all team members.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, food safety, quality, and certification requirements (HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, etc.).
- Own the frozen production budget, expenses, and resource allocation—aligning results with financial objectives.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Education: Bachelor’s in Production Processing or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years in food or industrial production; track record leading major production and deployment projects.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of relevant engineering principles, codes, standards, and digital manufacturing systems (MES, IoT/IIoT, automation).
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of food production requirements, preventive maintenance, and problem-solving in breakdown scenarios.
- Regulatory Acumen: Familiarity with ISO standards and regional/European production and safety regulations.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor technical teams through major change or transformation.
- Project Management: Experience planning, scheduling, and budgeting across complex projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective communicator and influencer at all levels.
- Languages: Fluency in German and English required.
